Sugar Plum Fairy Charitable Wine Tasting

Sparkling wine samples will be offered as you stroll through Old Orchard during extended holiday shopping hours.  Purchase your wine glass on Thursday, December 4 between 5 - 8 p.m. at Weber's Front Row for a nominal $10.  Tasting locations include Puddin'head Books, Euclid Records, Salt of the Earth, Daisy Clover Boutique, Krueger Pottery, and The Hair Affair.  A portion of all proceeds from the glass price will benefit the ScholarShop Foundation of St. LouisSponsorsBig Sky Cafe, Cravings, Cyrano's Cafe , Boogaloo, and the Old Orchard Merchant's Association.

Sugar Plum Fairy Photos

Don't miss a chance to have your family seasonal photograph snapped by an award-winning professional photographer on Saturday, December 6.  Surrounded by fantastic Nutcracker Fairyland finery, Nordmann Photography will take your photograph that will double as a memorable holiday gift from 1 - 3 p.m. in Gazebo Park.  The sitting fee will be waived and discounted holiday packages will be available.  For a picture perfect holiday afternoon, both hot chocolate and marshmallow roasting will be offered to all guests while you shop.  To make an advance appointment call 314.783.0300 or come to Gazebo Park between 1p.m. and 3 p.m.  SponsorsNordmann Photography, Cyrano's Cafe, and Old Orchard Merchant's Association.

Sugar Plum Fairy Lights

Throughout the holiday season, Old Orchard shops will hand out free "luminary kits" to visitors from Webster Groves.  On Saturday, December 13, all residents and businesses are encouraged to participate in the first Sugar Plum Fairy Lights, an annual luminary night.  The entire Webster Groves community will place luminary bags in front of their homes and shops to create a warm, holiday glow in the neighborhood.  Pick up your luminary kit from Krueger Pottery, Salt of the Earth, Daisy Clover, Puddin'head Books or The Hair Affair.  Fairies are passionate about our planet.  Is it any wonder residents can recycle Old Orchard luminary bags that are made up of 30-40% post-consumer material?  SponsorsThe Natural Way and the Old Orchard Merchant's Association.

Top Three Sugar Plum Light Tips

(1) The Fairy Godmother recommends you use a votive holder for safety. (2) LED tea lights can be found at Michael's, the Dollar Store, and online - although fairies do not surf the internet often. (3)Tinkerbell, Sugar Plum's fairy cousin, recommends you line the street with lights and never leave your luminiaries unattended.

For fun-filled festivities during the entire holiday season, visit the Old Orchard business district located in Webster Groves.  Don't miss the Sugar Plum Fairy who will be making her own stops in enchanting Old Orchard!  For more information contact Dawn DeBlaze at deblazeassoc@centurytel.net.
