Sugar Plum Fairy Lights
Throughout the holiday season, Old Orchard shops will hand out free "luminary kits" to visitors from Webster Groves. On Saturday, December 13, all residents and businesses are encouraged to participate in the first Sugar Plum Fairy Lights, an annual luminary night. The entire Webster Groves community will place luminary bags in front of their homes and shops to create a warm, holiday glow in the neighborhood. Pick up your luminary kit from Krueger Pottery, Salt of the Earth, Daisy Clover, Puddin'head Books or The Hair Affair. Fairies are passionate about our planet. Is it any wonder residents can recycle Old Orchard luminary bags that are made up of 30-40% post-consumer material? Sponsors: The Natural Way and the Old Orchard Merchant's Association.
Top Three Sugar Plum Light Tips
(1) The Fairy Godmother recommends you use a votive holder for safety. (2) LED tea lights can be found at Michael's, the Dollar Store, and online - although fairies do not surf the internet often. (3)Tinkerbell, Sugar Plum's fairy cousin, recommends you line the street with lights and never leave your luminiaries unattended.
